Butternut Lake / Mason Lake Region

Butternut Lake

A compact resort and recreational are located on good paved roads. Butternut Lake is just of Highway 13, three miles northwest of Park Falls. It is a beautiful, narrow, three and a half mile long lake of approximately 1000 acres. It is also a Class A muskie lake featuring an abundance of walleye, northern, and panfish, assuring good year ‘round fishing. Butternut Lake is the site of the Annual Muskie Tournament in August, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce.

In the winter, snowmobile trails give easy access to the city of Park Falls and other trail locations. Two snowmobile clubs claim this area as their club site.

Mason Lake Region

Located close to the Flambeau River State Forest and famous Flambeau River trip country, four private lakes along with 2600 private acres offer the seclusion for which you’ve been yearning. Peace and quiet can be found while fishing beautiful shoreline or hiking vast tracts of virgin hemlocks. Winter, with its miles of cross country ski trails, shows itself off in this beautiful area. What more could you ask for?
